Museum of World Explorations
Located on the heights of Le Suquet, the historic district of Cannes, in the remains of the medieval castle of the monks of Lérins listed as a historic monument, the Castre museum now called “MEM – Museum of world explorations” dominates the Croisette, the bay and the Lérins Islands.
The museum presents prestigious collections belonging to the City of Cannes, primitive arts of the Himalayas-Tibet, Oceania, pre-Columbian America, and Mediterranean antiquities and musical instruments from around the world. It’s the square medieval tower (109 steps) that offers an exceptional 360 ° panorama over Cannes and its region.
